We waved "see ya later" to our good friend John today! He is on his way home to California to get ready for his mission! We are really going to miss him - especially my kids! He has been so good to them! John has been dating my sister Kelsey this last year, and they spent a lot of their time at my house playing with my kids. He will be a really amazing missionary. Can't wait to see where he goes! Love you John! (Nice Jazz Jersey!)

We spent our Spring Break in Puerta Vallarta with Some of Jeremy's Family. We were excited to spend some quality time with our cousins that we never see enough! We lucked out and had fantastic weather! It was hard to keep the kids from getting sunburned because they wanted to be outside every second. Baden loved the pool. He got very brave this trip and jumped off of a bridge into the water (about a five foot drop ). Gavin was soaking up the culture. One day he asked me, "Mom, I'm going to live here - how long will it take me to learn Spanish?". He spent the rest of the day saying "Hola" to everyone he passed, and that night when he was saying his prayer he began to utter a bunch of gibberish and then after said " I said my prayer in Spanish!" Avery was not feeling great, and was a little nervous to get in the water, or touch the sand, or leave my lap for the most part. She did finally decide to sit on the edge of the pool and run her feet through the water. A highlight for her was definitely the specialty drinks. I'm surprised her eyes didn't turn pink after so many Strawberry Smoothies! It was a great trip! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Blick for the memorable time! We love you!

He did it! The tooth came out last week while we were in Mexico! While he was playing on the beach one day, he looked down in the sand and found a seashell. After examining the shell he discovered it was actually his tooth! He must have flicked it out with his tongue and not even realized it! The tooth fairy left him a quarter under his pillow that night, and in the morning he said with a smile - "um...my friends get a dollar!" We told him to be glad it was not a peso!

This is a really great recipe I got from my friend Maureen! We usually have it at Thanksgiving, but I was craving it, and seeing as it's made from carrots and all, I thought it would be perfect for Easter.
Carrot Soup
Saute in soup pot:
- 6 TBS unsalted butter
- 1 large onion chopped
- 1/4 cup ginger root
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Add and cook until soft:
- 7 c. chicken broth
- 1 c. white wine
- 1 1/2 lb. carrots
Add:
- 2 TBS lemon juice
- salt & pepper
- fresh chives
- pinch of curry
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Reheat and serve!
Baden has big news that he is very excited about! The other day he came running in to show me that he has a loose tooth! And it's not just a little loose, it's almost ready to come out! I didn't expect this to happen so soon - it really caught me off guard. I guess I'll have to really hurry to make a tooth-fairy pillow. Can you tell which tooth is loose from the picture? It's kind of dangling!
