He did it! The tooth came out last week while we were in Mexico! While he was playing on the beach one day, he looked down in the sand and found a seashell. After examining the shell he discovered it was actually his tooth! He must have flicked it out with his tongue and not even realized it! The tooth fairy left him a quarter under his pillow that night, and in the morning he said with a smile - "um...my friends get a dollar!" We told him to be glad it was not a peso!

Ummmm...I feel like I should confess right here that our house has the worst tooth fairy around. First, her very first big debut ever for the Boxxes (huds first tooth) - she fell asleep and the tooth fairy dad was out of town and in the morning....nothing!!! Can you imagine what an idiot she is!?? His first ever tooth...I mean come on!!! Well she winged it and it all worked out and she swore that would never happen again...but somehow it did. This time the tooth fairy dad was in town so it's his fault too! So this time Hudson runs in at like 5am and tells me she forgot again...so I send him back to bed and quickly look for the toothfairy/chores stash (which is an envelope with $1 bills_) and I go lay by him and tell him that if he falls back to sleep I think she'll still come! I sneakily slide you know what under you know where - I even gave him 3 dollar bills instead of two (yes Baden you totally got ripped off - we may have the flakey tooth fairy but you got the cheap tooth fairy)! Well, when Huds wakes back up and makes his bed he couldn't be more thrilled!! Oh fheww!! He rushes into the kitchen to tell me she brought him twelve dollars!!! A $10 bill and two $2 bills!!! "She what?" I say. "SHE WWHHAATT???" Brian says. Oh mann...the lesson is never grab the toothfairy money out of the envelope in the dark! What the heck was that ten dollar bill doing in the toothfairy stash! Now I know two things for sure: first, there are so so so many reasons why I win the lame mom award hands down - a good mom would demand that we are given a better tooth fairy...and next time Hudson loses a tooth he is going to be sorely dissapointed! May you be better than me. the end.
